ABOUT ISAM

Esthablished in 2013, ISAM is a league aiming to provide high quality racing for drivers all over the world.

Season 1

The first season of IS1 kicked off in Toban on the 3rd February 2013 at 5PM GMT. [redacted] started from pole position followed by the ZERO duo of Will Barnes and Akuma Able. After a slow start and some mistakes it was Will who took the inaugral IS1 Grand Prix win with the [redacted] in second.

Season 1 featured an epic duel between Barnes and [redacted], with fantastic races at New York, Orchard Lake, Lienz. But it wasn't until Essington and round 9 until another driver could take the top step, with Ryan Mullage taking his first of two wins, the second being two races later at Monaco, for his team SHR3KEM racing. John from UK SIm Racing also emerged as a real title contender, fighting [redacted] at Orchard Lake in only his second race after a great debut in New York where he jumped [redacted] at the start.

With [redacted] missing races and some questionable driving from his rival, it was Will Barnes who took the championship in the first season of IS1

SEASON 2
The second season saw a shift from the RFT 2008 mod to IMT's F1 2013 mod. A number of new faces emerged including Josh Cresswell for UK Sim Racing (which later became Vshift), Fabian Steiner replaced Akuma Abel at ZERO, Tim Brendel joined Relentless and the Deutsche Autorennen team revealed its car and driver lineup a mere day before the race.

The first 6 races were mainly dominated by [redacted], but new boy TIm Brendel took a sensational win in Melbourne having claimed a controversial pole position a mere 24 hours prior to lights out.

Will Barnes returned to the top step of the podium two races on the bounce at the ZERO Ring and Brands Hatch, but with the Briton missing races due to wheel issues and having difficulty with his wheel prior to his two race abcense, it was Brendel who lead the championship, with Josh Cresswell now joining him at Relentless.

The rest of the season consisted of another great 1v1 fight between Barnes and Brendel, but with Will having to use a keyboard for a couple of races he was almost certainly out of the running. The real surprise came in the form of Josh "Crashwell" Cresswell, who took pole and the race win in Monaco ahead of Tim Brendel making it a Relentless 1-2 with Barnes in third.

At the penultimate race of the season, fans were treated with an electric battle between the two championship rivals which eventually ended up with Barnes making a mistake and hitting the wall at turn 2 with the race win seemingly in the bag.

Regardless of this he had a mountain to climb if he were to snatch gold from the German, and it was Tim Brendel who became the second World Champion.

SEASON 3

With an agreement to merge leagues with the German WMC league, season 3 was cut short. Nevertheless, it provided great racing action with even more new drivers such as David Rendleon for Rendlecorp and Stefan McCready for the newly Formed ZERO Jr team.

All 5 races were dominated by [redacted], with 5 poles, fastest laps and wins, he was truly unbeatable. The only driver who could come close was Tim Brendel who showed strong pace in the opening stages of the season opener, but ever since began to drop back.

Season 3 marked a torrid season for ZERO, with Will Barnes forced to get all the points for the team in the sudden absence of Fabian Steiner. The season ended with the juniour team on top of the bigger brother ZERO Media and SHR3KEM well clear despite the 1 driver for all rounds bar 1.

SEASON 4

A sudden decision to revert back to rFactor 1, after plans had been made to transfer to rFactor 2, proved to be a brilliant decision by the drivers, giving possibly the most electric season in the history of International Sim Action Motorsport, with an epic duel between previous champions Barnes and [redacted], followed by the incredible debut of Tyler Nyerges for West Midland, who soon enough took his maiden win at his home race in Bathurst at round 2.

With Tyler switching to ZERO alongside Will come Austria, the pair possessed an uncanny resemblance to that of the 2014 Mercedes F1 duo, competing for race victories at seemingly every successive round of the championship.

They were separated by centimetres at times with incredible on track battles. The pair traded fastest laps and wins but it was Nyerges who took the title in a heart-stopping climax to the season at a soggy Interlagos.

SEASON 5

Again, season 5 was a truncated season with just 6 races. But yet again the racing was closer than ever with 4 different winners from just 5 races and a record number of drivers on the grid for the season opener.

The new "upgrades" system allowed teams to develop their cars throughout the season much like a real Formula One team to push themselves further up the grid.

This system certainly did not dissapoint, boasting a field more competetive than ever. But as the grid declined and the motivation to use an outdated slim grinded to a halt, ISAM aimed to rejuvenate its league taking a bold step into the unknown with multiple divisions and a brand new sim, rFactor 2 for season 6 and the forseeable future.
